Hyundai Creta has become almost a household name for SUV buyers in India. If you’ve been on Indian roads lately, you know exactly how many of these are out there. From January to April 2025 alone, Hyundai shipped nearly 70,000 units of the Creta. That’s not just a number — that’s a clear sign of trust people have in this mid-size SUV.
What makes the Creta so popular is the choice it gives. Buyers get multiple variants, different engines, and various transmission options. So whether you’re after fuel economy or want something a bit sporty, there’s a Creta waiting for you.
The Sporty N Line Version
While the standard Creta is more family-focused, Hyundai has something extra for those who want a dash of sportiness. That’s where the Creta N Line steps in. This version looks sharper and feels a bit different to drive too. It’s aimed at people who want to stand out in the daily sea of SUVs.
In India, the Creta N Line comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol that makes sure you get that extra punch on highways. It’s quick, refined, and gives you that little thrill without making you uncomfortable in city traffic.
Possible Engine Upgrade In Brazil
But Hyundai’s not stopping there. In Brazil, they are testing a Creta N Line with an even bigger engine. A test unit was spotted wearing a ‘1.6-TGDI’ badge. That’s the hint. This version gets a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine. Spy shots show the car completely uncovered in a shiny silver shade. From the outside, not much seems different except for larger 18-inch alloys that fill up the wheel arches nicely.
While we don’t have inside pictures, Hyundai will likely keep the same sporty all-black cabin theme. Expect black synthetic leather seats with bold red stitching. The N Line badges on the seats, steering, and gear knob will remind you it’s not your regular Creta. Sporty metal pedals and red ambient lighting are small touches that bring the vibe together.
Performance Difference
Right now, the Brazil-spec Creta N Line uses a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo that makes about 118 bhp and 172 Nm torque. The new 1.6-litre turbo engine, however, will take things up a notch. It’s expected to churn out 191 bhp with 265 Nm torque. It’ll only come with a 7-speed DCT, which is perfect for people who love smooth, quick shifts.
To compare, India’s Creta N Line runs on a 1.5-litre turbo that gives you 158 bhp and 253 Nm. So the Brazilian upgrade is clearly for buyers who want more performance under their foot.
Will India Get It?
So, does this mean India will see this new engine? Not likely, at least for now. Hyundai and Kia don’t use this engine in any other model here. Also, adding a bigger turbo mill might push the price up, which can make it tough for Hyundai to justify in this segment.
In Brazil, this new Creta N Line with the 1.6 TGDI is expected to be priced at around R$ 200,000, which roughly converts to Rs 31 lakh. That’s a good jump from its current price. But for folks who crave extra power, that extra spend might just be worth it.
